  WILLIAM AUGUSTUS LIEF
  
    William Augustus Lief, 81, of Cumberland, formerly of Meyersdale,
  died Sept. 1.  He was born January 24, 1893, in Somerset County, a
  son of Augustus and Nora Ryan Lief.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Dorcas Tressler; a daughter,
  Mara Tremaine Crabtree and a sister, May, Meyersdale.
    Mass of Christian burial was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in
  Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, the Rev. Clark George
  officiating.  Interment in the church cemetery in charge of the
  Konhaus Funeral Home.
