Main Street, Somerset, died March 17, 1978 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born April 29, 1894 in Darlington, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Lilly (Bell) Kingan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Earle Liggitt, former president of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association and board member on the National Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by these children: Mary L., wife of Dr. Albert W. Flower, Somerset; Jane, wife of Arnold Haynan, Cleveland, Ohio; Dr. William A., Westfield, N.J.; Robert C., Spartanburg, S.C.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and these brothers and sisters, Mrs. Marietta Stokes, Baltimore, Md.; Miss Lois Kingan, Mrs. William (Joy) Windt and Sam, all of California. Member of St. Paul's United Presbyterian Church and the church-affiliated afternoon circle. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Saturday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Carl Hull officiating. Commital service at 1:30 p.m., Jefferson Memorial Park, with assistant pastor William P. McKinney of the Homestead United Presbyterian Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, family suggests that contributions be made to the Somerset Community Hospital Building Fund.
