Lincoln Jr., 70, of Berlin formerly of Connellsville died Monday June 14, 1999 in Somerset Hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1928 in Connellsville a son of the late Carl C. Lincoln Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Pierce Lincoln Resh. He was a retired field office manager for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and also worked as revenue agent for Connellsville Hospital and as a Sales Tax investigator for the state of Pennsylvania for several years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and he was a life member of the Berlin V.F.W. and a member of the Berlin American Legion. He was also a member of the U.S.S. Wyoming Association where he served as treasurer until this year. He was an appointed member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Policy Committee, member of the Berlin Last Man's Club, member of the Masonic Lodge #554 of Meyersdale, and the Harrisburg Consistory of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites. He is also a listed member in "Who's Who in Finance and Industry." He is survived by his wife, Clara Collins Lincoln; one daughter, Patricia Lincoln of Atlanta, Ga.; six sons, William Lincoln and his wife Teresa of Connellsville, Ralph Lincoln of Berlin, Charles Lincoln of Somerset, James Lincoln and his wife Doreen of Spencer, Mass.; John Lincoln and his wife Wendy of Hilton Head, S.C. and Doug Lincoln and his wife Deb of Somerset; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; a step brother, Clarence (Pete) Resh of Indian Head. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Carl C. Lincoln III in 1981 and a brother Charles Edward Lincoln. Friends will be received at the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Chambers officiating. Interment with full military rites, will follow in Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery near McClellandtown. A memorial service will be conducted by King Solomon Lodge #346, F&AM at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home. Daily American, June 16, 1999 [L0885]
