Earle Ling, 85, of Somerset RD 4, died April 21, 1977, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Feb. 22, 1892, in Stonycreek Township, son of the late Ellsworth and Elmira (Statler) Ling. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Naomi Dixon, two brothers and three sisters. Survived by these children: E. Hayes of Somerset RD 4; Mrs. Roy (Phyllis) Walker, Buena Park, Calif.; Mrs. Robert A. (Marjorie) Thompson, South Bend, Ind.; Hubert of Hooversville RD 1; Robert of Towson, Md.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Sister of Mrs. Sarah Topper of Laporte, Ind. Member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Somerset Lions Club, SAR, and 50-year member of Milford Grange. Was a retired farmer. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. (today) Friday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Arnold Kastner and the Rev. James Ling officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
