Ling Sr., 63, of Stoystown, died July 23, 1996, at Somerset Hospital. Born May 13, 1933, in Windber, son of Ted and Ruth (Bracken) Ling. Preceded in death by parents; son, Rick K. Ling Jr., and sister, Phyllis. Survived by his wife, the former Dolley Peterman; daughter, Alisha, married to Dodd Fanale of York; granddaughter, Nikki Fanale, grandsons Petie and Matt Ling; stepfather, Charles Gibbons of Buffalo Mills. Brother of Wilda and husband, Edward Hillegass, Walhonding, Ohio; Charles and wife, Gloria Gibbons, Hyndman; Neil and wife, Peggy Gibbons, Cleveland, Ohio; Larry and wife, Linda Gibbons, Marlin, Tenn.; and James and wife, Carol Gibbons, of Cairnbrook. Also numerous nieces and nephews. He retired from PennDOT as a paint crew foreman. Army veteran of Korean Conflict. Member of Heritage Baptist Church, Friedens; Post 554, VFW, Somerset, and Quemahoning Rod and Gun Club. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Revs. Russ Kessler and James R. Ling officiating.
