He had been gassed and shell-shocked in war and had been in ill health ever since. Deputy Coroner C. S. Beck, who made an investigation, came to the conclusion that the unfortunate man committed suicide by jumping off the railway bridge, a fall of about 40 feet. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Lytle, three children, and his mother, Mrs. Alice Lingenfeld, of Confluence. His father Alfred Lingenfeld, died some years ago. Funeral services were held at the Humbert Funeral Home. Meyersdale Republican, December 27, 1945
