Survivors: Wife, Kathryn Mullin Linkel; 3 daughters: Leanna Reid, Nancy Linkel, June Deakins; 2 sons: John Ellis Linkel and Richard Stanley Linkel; 2 sisters: Clara Davis and Mary Linkel; 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Superintendent of buildings and grounds for University of Indianapolis for 11 years. Retired in 1960. Farmed in Franklin County near Brookville, Ind., for 25 years. Veteran of U.S. Army in 1920s. Served in U.S. Navy during World War II in South Pacific. Former trustee of Old Franklin EUB Church near Brookville, Ind. Charter member of Rosedale Hills United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, where he sang in choir for 25 years; he sang five years in Franklin Methodist Home Choir. Member of Gideons International and University of Indianapolis Fellows Group. Funeral services: Sunday in Wright Memorial Chapel, Franklin United Methodist Home, and at 11 a.m. Monday in Old Franklin United Methodist Church near Brookville. Burial, Fairfield Cemetery near Brookville. Arrangements by Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home, Franklin.
