He was born January 7, 1949 in Latrobe. A son of Mrs. Janice L. Shaulis of Somerset and the late William A. Lipsie. Preceded in death by his father, paternal grandfather, William Lipsie; maternal grandfather, Joseph Robbins. Survived by his mother, Mrs. Norman (Janice) Shaulis, Somerset; step-father Judge Norman A. Shaulis, Somerset; brother, Gregory S. Lipsie of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. John (Anette) Barkman, Somerset; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Florence Weidenhamer, of Alliance, Nebraska; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ethel C. Lipsie, Blairsville, Pa. Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a helicopter pilot. Member of the American Legion, Somerset, -- AREO Club, Somerset, Reserved Officers Association; St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset, president of the Veteran's Club at California State College, employed by Arizona Helicopter Company as a captain. He was stationed in Jakarta, Indonesia. Friends will be received at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Hull officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
