Livengood, 54, of Somerset, veteran of World War I, died Saturday morning, Jan. 22, at his home. He was the son of Ephraim and Rebecca (Cramer) Livengood. He was one of the first three persons to be called to service from this county in the first world war. He served two years overseas, took part in seven battles and was wounded in one. He was a member of the DAV post, Johnstown, of the American Legion and the VFW posts of Somerset, of the Somerset Sportsmen Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. His wife, Mrs. Luella Nichols Livengood, survives, and these brothers and sisters: Judson Livengood of Harnedsville; Carl Livengood of Somerset; Mrs. Evans S. Rhoads of Somerset, Mrs. W. H. Hanna of Confluence, Mrs. Verna McClintock and Mrs. Lottie Weimer of Akron, O., and Mrs. C. R. Coleman of Blairsville. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Hauger Funeral Home, Somerset, the Rev. Dr. I. Hess Wagner officiating. Burial was in the Listonburg cemetery where military rites were conducted by VFW and American Legion posts. Meyersdale Republican, January 27, 1949
