All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ EFFIE MAY LIVENGOOD Mrs. Effie May Livengood, wife of Samuel Livengood, a justice of the peace residing in the village of St. Paul, Elk Lick Township, died in the Somerset Community Hospital, April 12, 1943, after a long period of suffering caused by a disordered condition of the kidneys and other ailments. She was born and reared in Addison Township, near Listonburg, and died at the age of 48 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was a daughter of W. A. and Elizabeth Bird, and is survived by her parents, husband, and two sons, Blaine and Warren Livengood. Blaine is in the U.S. Army in the Quarter Master Detachment at Camp Shenango, Greenville, Pa. Warren is at home. She is also survived by four brothers and one sister, namely, Lloyd Bird, Berlin; Lee Bird, Somerset; Arthur Bird, Clarksburg, W.Va.; Glenn Bird, Listonburg; Olive, wife of Arthur Miller, Rockwood. Mrs. Livengood was a faithful member of the St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church, only a short distance from the Livengood home. She was held in high esteem by her neighbors, and was a kind and loving wife and mother. She will be sadly missed by her family, numerous relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. Alvin J. Forry, at the St. Paul Church, today (Thursday), at two o'clock p.m. Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery, under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas, mortician, of Salisbury.
