She was born in Salisbury, Oct. 2, 1861, a daughter of Christian and Sally (Wagner) Livengood. After the death of her parents, she made her home with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Dill, in Meyersdale for more than 50 years. She never married, but devoted her entire life to her sister and family with loving household service like that of the Martha of the holy scriptures, the sister of Mary and Lazarus, whose home was a favorite resort of Jesus. Miss Livengood's health began to fail about ten years ago, since which time her sister ministered to her with equal devotion. She was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church, and commanded the respect and esteem of all who knew her. Her only brother, Dr. Theodore F. Livengood, was a prominent physician of Elizabeth, N.J., where he died about 25 years ago. Mrs. Dill is the only surviving member of the family. Her nephew, William E. Dill of Philadelphia, was the only near relative living away from here, who attended her funeral. Rev. Nelson C. Brown conducted the funeral service at the Dill home on North Street at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Interment in the Dill family lot in Union Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price and Son.
