Livengood, 98, Grantsville, Md., died Sunday, July 9, 1989, at her residence. Born May 21, 1891, in Towanda, she was the daughter of the late Joshua and Lucretia (Hill) Messersmith. She was preceded in death by two husbands, James A. Paul and Joseph Livengood. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World Camp 41, Grantsville, Md. She was employed as a telephone operator for 30 years by the Springs Mutual Telephone Company, Springs, Pa. Surviving are two sons, Joseph Paul, Grantsville, Md.; and Robert Paul, Delanson, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Loekhel, Grantsville, Md.; and Mrs. Claudie Goodfellow, Cumberland, Md.; two step-sons, Paul Livengood and Carlton Livengood, both of Bedford; one step-daughter, Mrs. Fern Houck, Pittsburgh; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md., where services were conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Robert D'Angelo and the Rev. Joseph Upole. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery, Salisbury. Pallbearers were Jim Paul, Ray Paul, Gary Ray Frantz, Eric Frantz, Butch Buckel and Randy Butler. The Republic, July 13, 1989 [L1064]
