Llewellyn, 72, died very suddenly at his home on Broadway, Berlin, Saturday afternoon, October 15. He was born in Wales, Sept. 8, 1877, a son of the late John and Mary (Hayden) Llewellyn. He with his family lived in Belle Vernon for 35 years where he was employed by the American Window Glass Co. and later by the American Sheet and Tin Plate Company. He was active in civic affairs and was a member of the Boy Scout Council. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in which he held the office of deacon and later the office of elder. He belongs to the Belle Vernon Lodge 643 F. and A.M., the Pittsburgh A.A.S. rites and the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection. Mr. and Mrs. Llewellyn and family moved to Berlin four years ago to care for the aged mother of Mrs. Llewellyn, who passed away last May. Mr. Llewellyn is survived by his wife, Nellie B. Hauger Llewellyn, and these sons and daughters: Carl, Hagerstown; Blodwyn, at home; Anne, wife of Ernest Kabina; Robert, Seattle and Barbara, wife of Ernest Weyant, Berlin. He leaves five grandchildren, one half brother, Edward Jones of Miami, Fla., two half sisters, Mrs. David Baker of Berlin and Miss Mabel Jones of Akron, Ohio. He was a member of Berlin Chamber of Commerce and of the Evangelical and Reformed Church. He operated a gas service station on Broadway adjoining his home. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Johnson and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Ira R. Harkins officiating. Masonic rites were conducted at the grave in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Berlin. Meyersdale Republican, October 20, 1949
