Lloyd, 77, Somerset, died Sept. 20, 2002, at Siemons Lakeview Manor Estate, Somerset. Born Feb. 15, 1925 in Meyersdale, son of William A. and Lulu B. (Plitt) Lloyd. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife, the former Virginia Rue Walker, to whom he was married 38 years; children, Jerry L. Lloyd, married to the former Maxine Glotfelty of Lynchburg, Va., Mrs. Martin (Bonnie) Swintosky of Davidsville, Mrs. Donald J. (Ann) Voytish of Somerset, Scott E. Lloyd, married to the former Kathy Gelpi of Somerset, and Mrs. James (Tammy) Jones of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren, Mrs. Ronald (Sue Ann) Emerick, Alicia and Jeremy Voytish, Brittany, Kelsey and Emily Lloyd, Danielle and Joshua Lloyd, Christine, Elijah and Sean Jones; one great-granddaughter, Tori Ann Emerick; brother W. Robert Lloyd, married to the former Lillian Saler of Somerset; and nephew William R. Lloyd Jr. of Somerset. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church. A World War II veteran U.S. Army Field Artillery European Theatre. A 1943 graduate of Somerset high school. Retired partner of Somerset Foundry and DW Rhoads Co. Life member and former assistant chief of Somerset Volunteer Fire Department. Member of Lodge 358 F.&A.M. Past president of Somerset school board for 18 years. Volunteered for the Somerset Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset. Rev. Robert L. Hoover Jr., senior pastor, and Rev. Susan H. Yatta, pastor, officiating.
