Born Aug. 26, 1929, in Barnesboro, a son of the late Alvin and Della Mae (Keith) Lockard. Preceded in death by brothers, William, Guy and Oscar Lockard; and sisters, Eva and Margaret Lockard and Dorothy Richter. Survived by his wife, Mildred (Grenz) Lockard and children: Ray Lockard Jr. and wife, Colleen, Jenners; Max Lockard and wife, Johnna, Confluence and Cynthia, wife of Edward Knopsnyder, Salisbury. Also survived by grandchildren, Melinda Zimmerman and Heidi Knopsnyder; and great-grandchildren, Autumn and Syrus Zimmerman, all of Salisbury. Also survived by these sisters: Genevieve Watson, Elizabeth Lockard, Irene Kizak, Agnes Hafko and Odessa Adkins; and nieces, Margaret Lockard and Patricia Beavers. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale. He was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne U.S. Army, Korea. He was a retired employee of the Purolator Courier Corp. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Frank E. Harpster III officiating.
