Logsdon, 79, Hyndman, died Dec. 25, 1993 at the Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born March 18, 1914 in Hyndman, son of the late Charles and Mellie (Shaffer) Logsdon. Also preceded in death by a brother, Victor and sister, Iva Logsdon. Survived by wife of 51 years, Rachel Grace (Pensyl) Logsdon; 2 sons, Robert Clark Logsdon, Somerset, and Charles Ray Logsdon, Orange Park, Fla.; and 5 grandchildren, Scott, Chad, Heather, Lisa and Rachel Logsdon. Retired in 1976 with 27 years of employment with the U.S. Postal Service, working mainly at the Somerset Post Office. Served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre of Operations during World War II. Member of Hyndman First United Church of Christ and the Hyndman V.F.W. Oscar Jordan Post 7375. Friends received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ruth S. Kershner officiating.
