All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ JAMES LOGUE James Logue Killed in Nightingale Mine GARRETT, Oct. 5 - James Logue, a resident of Garrett for many years was instantly killed in the Nightingale mine, near Allegheny, about 8 o'clock Monday morning when a rock fell across his neck, breaking it and also the bones in his face. He was employed as a coal loader and was working under the fall when it let loose. Elias Lee of town was working with him at the time and rolled the rock off the dead man. Undertaker Price of Meyersdale prepared the body for burial. James Logue was a hard working man and followed the trade of coal mining for many years. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Logue, who passed away many years ago. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Lulu O'Neil, and Mrs. Harry Geiger, of Meyersdale; also his wife and four children, James, Raymond, Margaret and Elsie. He was 40 years of age. The funeral will be held in Meyersdale, Thursday at 10 o'clock, with interment in Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, October 6, 1932
