He was born June 29,1923, in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County. He is the son of the late Robert G. Logue and Delma (Gray) Weaver. Preceded in death by both parents, granddaughter Amber Logue, and great-grandson Chance Benford. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Bernice (Bowman) Logue, and eight children: Sandra, wife of Robert Klink, Friendsville, Md.; Mary Ann, wife of Alden Watson, Garrett; Rita Buratty, Somerset; Lois, wife of James Buratty, Pittsburgh; Betty, wife of James Porter, Meyersdale; Joseph Jr., husband of Kristi Lyons, Meyersdale; and James Logue and Karen Logue, both of Meyersdale. He is also survived by grandchildren Tina Devine, Kristi Klink, Becky McKinley, Bradley Benford, Heidi Buratty, Lisa Buratty-Kaultenbaugh, Jackee and Bridget Buratty, Jodi Haupt, Ashley, Lindsey, Kelsy and Jessica Logue, and Eric Broadwater. He enjoyed his 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as his loving brother Sheridan Logue, husband of Veda Caton, Meyersdale. Joseph served his country proudly in the U.S. Army in the 160th Ordinance Tire Repair Co. (1943-1945), where be was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He worked as a coal miner, carpenter, ordained minister, construction worker in CCC and B&O Railroad. He retired in 1980 as a supervisor for the Summit Township Municipality. He had a great love for music and played professionally for more than 30 years. A member of the Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Garrett, VFW, American Legion, DAV, and the Persian Gulf Command Organization. His family and friends will sadly miss him. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Don Engle officiating. Interment will be in the Salisbury Elk Lick Cemetery.
