(Darr) Lohr, 86, Somerset, died May 18, 2004, at her residence. Born Sept. 13, 1917, in Lincoln Township, she is the daughter of the late Clyde and Merta (Baker) Darr. Also preceded in death by a brother Clyde (Buddy) Darr. Survived by her husband of 62 years, Meredith L. Lohr, brother, Warren Darr married to the former Betty Moore, Fla., sister, Janet (Darr) Onstead and husband Edward, California, nieces, Pam, Sally, Cindy and Laura and nephew Terry. She and her husband resided in Rock Hill, S.C., from 1953 to 1986. While in Rock Hill, she was employed at Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Inc. Also employed as a periodic writer for the Charlotte Observer in Charlotte, N.C. She was active in the Grace Lutheran Church of Rock Hill, where she was superintendent of the children's Sunday school and printed the bulletins for Sunday services. She and her husband moved back to Somerset in February of 1986. She was also a member of the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, where she was very active in the choir and taught Sunday school. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the special love and care given to her by her personal caregivers, Mona and Chris Smid, Dr. Mike and Edie Porter. The family could not ask for better care. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday in the Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennis Doebler will officiate. Interment in Casebeer Cemetery.
