Lohr, who passed away last September in Arizona, will hold a memorial service in his memory at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Somerset Christian Fellowship, located one mile east of Somerset on Route 31 on Collingwood Lane. Daily American, July 30, 2002 [L1167] LOHR Darwin Alvin Lohr, 76, 370 Dunmyer Road, Stoystown, recently residing at 1832 West Taro Lane, Phoenix, Ariz., went home to be with his Lord Sept. 2, 2001 at the John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz. Born Sept. 21, 1924 in Johnstown son of Forrest Alvin Lohr and Estella Etta Grine Lohr. Preceded in death by parents and brothers Jack and Leo. Survived by his wife, Vera Meyers Lohr to whom he was married more than 52 years. They were married June 19, 1949. Also survived by sons Thomas A. Lohr (Bonnie), Somerset, Blake A. Lohr (Ann), Etters, Pa, Craig A. Lohr, Phoenix, Ariz. Grandchildren Kimberly Keim (Gregory) and Scott Lohr (Kris) Somerset, Melissa A. Choate (Terry), Dover, Pa., Sean A. Lohr, Colorado Springs, Colo., Hilary and Dillon Lohr, Phoenix, Ariz. Sisters Waneta Newbold, Stoystown; Judith Ingram, Chesapeake Beach, Md., and Betty Lou Pysher (Fred), Custer City, Pa. Also numerous nieces and nephews. He was a retired Postmaster of Stoystown; a veteran of World War II; a member of the Somerset and Stoystown Historical Societies and attended the Somerset Christian Fellowship. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Lohr at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Wilbur, in the summer of 2002. Darwin was a kind, compassionate and generous husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed by his loving family. Daily American, September 12, 2001 [L1168]
