He was born April 14, 1913, in Garrett, a son of the late Jake and Stella (Deaner) Lohr. He is survived by his wife, the former Hilda Drenner. Death ends a marriage union of 50 years. He is survived by these children: Bernie Garkovich and Gary W., both of Akron, Ohio; Thomas, McKeesport; Sally M. Kelley, North Versailles; Robert D., Meyersdale RD 3; Donald R., Library; Janis L. Saylor, Berlin; Audrey J. Christner, Betty G. Hoover, Patricia A. Decker, and Theresa K. Lohr, all of Garrett; 25 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Glenn, Mars. He was also survived by stepsister, Grace McHenry, Plum Borough; he owned and operated Lohr's Tavern, Garrett, for three years. He was a retired coal miner with 30 years of service, a PennDOT supervisor for eight years, a former member of the Garrett Borough Council and the Water and Sewage Authority. He was a member of the Garrett Sportsman's Association and a life member of the Garrett Volunteer Fire Department. Friends were received at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services were conducted with the Rev. Albert Valentine. Interment, Highland Cemetery. The Republic, February 16, 1984
