Lohr, 78, a resident of McMurray Hills Manor, McMurray, Pa., and formerly of Confluence, died May 22, 1999, in the Canonsburg Hospital. She was born March 15, 1921, in Humbert, daughter of William Edward and Charlotte (Layfield) Hall. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Orville C.; son Orville Edward; daughter Cindy Kay; 3 brothers, James, Fred, and Robert Hall; and 2 sisters Dorothy Jeffries and Grace Ream. Survived by daughter, Barbara J. Verakis of Canonsburg; a grandson, David C. Verakis of Florence, Ky.; and 3 sisters: Faye Mick, Parsons, W. Va.; Mary Ellen Matthews of Lemont Furnace; and Evelyn Thompson of Ohiopyle; also nieces and nephews. Member of the Confluence Church of the Nazarene and taught Head Start in Confluence and worked as a cook at the Deer Valley YMCA Camp prior to retirement. Friends will be received from 2-9 p.m. Monday (today) at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. James Thompson officiating.
