Lohr, 79, of Johnstown, formerly of Hooversville died Sept. 10, 2003, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 28, 1923, in Hollsopple, son of David and Rella (Buchanan) Lohr. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Janet Gindlesperger, and brother Morris. Survived by these children: Ernest, married to the former Bonita Clay of Hooversville, G. Raymond, married to the former Sandra Shumaker of Olympia, Wash., Donna Malas of Cairnbrook, Charles of Visalia, Calif. and Maureen, married to Rick College of Richland. Eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Brother of Zella Naugle of Michigan, Dayton, Geneva Brant, Fred, Janet Gindlesperger and Jean Thomas, all of Hooversville, Kenneth of Johnstown and Jerry of Waynesboro. World War II Army veteran having served with the Texas 36th Division in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany and he also received the Purple Heart. Retired from U.S. Steel, Johnstown. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville, Hooversville, V.F.W. and Tatman Run Hunting Camp. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Hooversville. Rev. Gerald L. Myers officiating. Interment St. Thomas Cemetery.
