Born May 11, 1900 in Bradford County, daughter of Robert and Christine (Bohlayer) Ayers. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Lester J.; son, Master Sergeant Lester A.; daughters, Frances McIntire and Susan Lohr and brother Harold. Survived by these children: Florence, married to Griffith R. Brockunier, Jennerstown; Robert A., married to the former Edna Ashbrook, Burlington, N.J.; David A., married to the former Betty J. Ashby, Boswell RD; and William M., married to the former Judith MacDonald, Eighty Four, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Sister of: Laura A. Fosdeck of Odessa, N.Y. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, where she was the first woman councilmember, taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of WELCA. Long time past member of Seventh Society of Farm Women and Trinity chapter No. 138, O.E.S., Somerset. Also a school teacher in the former J.B.J. Joint School District for several years. Avid reader and gardener. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m., until time of service 11 a.m., Saturday, at Laurel Trinity Church, the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating. Interment Mt. Zion Cemetery.
