Born on Sept. 5, 1939, in Stoystown, he is the son of the late Harold and Lucilla Specht Lohr. He is survived by Carlene L. Humphries Lohr, his wife of 39 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters: Jill Isanogle, Frederick, Md.; Gerri McNamara and husband Joe, Thurmont, Md.; and Kim Cover and husband Mike also of Thurmont; four grandchildren: Bradley McNamara, Danielle Isanogle, Karah McNamara and Michael Cover Jr; two sisters: Connie Gerwatowski, Somerset, and Carol Clark and husband Jerry of Grantsville, Ohio, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lohr was a plant operations engineer at Frederick Memorial Hospital, retiring this April after 15 years service. Prior to that he was a heavy equipment operator for Local 77 in Washington, D.C., for 15 years and worked 4 years at Southern States Petroleum in Frederick. He was a member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frederick. Mr. Lohr was a co-founder of the Girls Fast Pitch Softball League in Lewistown and a past president of the Frederick County Girls Fast Pitch Softball League. He was an avid camper, enjoyed hunting and fishing, a big football fan but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Scott Gustafson officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1440 West Washington, Chicago, Ill. 60607 or Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9664 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md. 21702.
