Born Sept. 19, 1912, near Grantsville, the son of the late Marshall Henry and Minerva Jane (Custer) Lohr. Also preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette P. (Bittinger) Lohr, sister, Edna Lohr and a brother, Harry Lohr. Surviving are a daughter, Jeanne Fetter and husband Rev. David E. Fetter, Salisbury; a sister Ann Knecht, Akron, Ohio; and a brother, Earl Lohr, Atwater, Ohio; 2 grandchildren. Michael Fetter, Salisbury, and Julie Fetter, Arlington, Va. Mr. Lohr was an iceman, farmer and car salesman. He was in the timer [sic] and pulpwood business. He was a faithful and very active member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and council member. He was involved in area fund-raisers, Grantsville Cemetery Association and was business manager of the Grantsville Sluggers Baseball Team. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville Sunday. Services will be conducted at Christ Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Monday with his son-in-law, the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
