  Richard F. Lohr, 88, Stoystown RD 1, died Dec. 28, 1979, at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born Feb. 7, 1891, in Shade Township, Somerset
  County, son of Cornelius and Miriam H. (Fleegle) Lohr.  Preceded in
  death by his parents; his wife, the former Elsie M. Bowman, who died
  Nov. 22, 1966; and daughters: Sarah, wife of Dwight S. Shaffer; and
  Nannie Cora, wife of Kermit L. Rhoads.  Survived by these children:
  Evelyn, wife of Hubert Friedline, Boswell RD 2; L. Hilton, married to
  the former Ruth Emerick, Stoystown RD 1; R. Louis, married to the
  former Ethel Thompson, Stoystown RD 3; Bessie, wife of the Rev. G.
  Franklin Gray Jr., Wrightsville, Pa.; David L., married to the former
  Evelyn Swope, Friedens RD 2; 22 grandchildren, and 19
  great-grandchildren.  Also a sister, Miss Vida Lohr of Euclid,
  Ohio.  Long-time member of Zion Hoffman Lutheran Church.  A prominent
  retired farmer of Jenner Township.  A charter member of Jenner Grange
  Number 1661.  Former member and past state president of National
  Brown Swiss Cattle Breeders' Association.  Former director of the
  Poor in Somerset County in 1930's.  A former member Jenner Community
  Sportsman.  Forman director of People's State Bank, Boswell.  He was
  a great sportsman until declining health.  Past president of former
  Jenner Community Chamber of Commerce.  Also was a member and past
  president of former Jenner Fair Association.  Friends will be
  received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. Sunday at Joseph
  H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where services
  will be held at 11 a.m. Monday by Mr. Lohr's son-in-law, the Rev. G.
  Franklin Gray.  Interment, Zion Hoffman Cemetery.
