Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell. Other arrangements are incomplete. LOHR Robert W. Lohr Jr., 71, Boswell RD 1, dead on arrival May 21, 1984, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born Jan. 9, 1913, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, son of Robert and Laura (Horner) Lohr Sr. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Florence Johnson; brother, Lester; three infants [sic] sisters and one infant brother. Survived by widow, the former Helen Croner; daughter, Nancy, wife of Howard Jackson, wife of Howard Jackson, North Olmsted, Ohio; son, Robert W. III, married to the former Helen Gindlesperger, Boswell RD 1; five grandchildren. Brother of: Walter, Berlin; Edith Beaver, Roslyn, Pa.; and Bertha Johnson, Somerset RD 2. Member of Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, church choir; Somerset Lodge 358 F and AM; life member of Somerset Historical Society; past president and secretary of the Boswell Lions Club; past president of the Connellsville PSEA; 16-year member and past secretary of the former J.B.J Joint School Board; also served on the North Star School Board. Received B.S. degree in agriculture education and masters degree from Penn State University. Formerly taught at Shanksville-Stonycreek schools and returned from Connellsville schools in 1978. Taught seven years in the Veterans on the Farm Training Program. Friends were received Tuesday evening and will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell. Body will be removed to Laurel Trinity Church for viewing from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of service at 11 a.m., The Rev. Jesse E. Wolf officiating. Interment, I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Berlin.
