  LONG
  
    Alma L. Long, 93, Friedens RD 1, died April 19, 1990, at home. 
  Born Dec 19, 1896, in Quemahoning Township, daughter of Calvin and
  Minnie (Lease) Long.  Preceded in death by parents; sisters Bessie C.
  and Verda P. Long, Nancy Pfrogner and half brother, Willard Lease.  A
  sister of J. Chester, married to the former Thelma Knepper of
  Friedens RD 1.  Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.  She
  was a former school teacher in Quemahoning Township, Somerset Township
  and Somerset area schools.  She also taught at Caney Community College
  in Caney Creek, Ky.  She was a graduate of Susquehanna and Columbia
  universities.  She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Women of
  E.L.C.A. and Sunday school teacher for many years.  She was also a
  member of the Third Society of Farm Women and Delta Kappa Gamma
  Teachers Sorority.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to
  9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing from 12
  noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Sunday at Friedens Lutheran
  Church with the Rev. James R. Ling, assisted by her nephew, the Rev.
  Joseph D. Long.  Interment, Friedens Lutheran Cemetery.
