Long, 93, Friedens RD 1, died April 19, 1990, at home. Born Dec 19, 1896, in Quemahoning Township, daughter of Calvin and Minnie (Lease) Long. Preceded in death by parents; sisters Bessie C. and Verda P. Long, Nancy Pfrogner and half brother, Willard Lease. A sister of J. Chester, married to the former Thelma Knepper of Friedens RD 1. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was a former school teacher in Quemahoning Township, Somerset Township and Somerset area schools. She also taught at Caney Community College in Caney Creek, Ky. She was a graduate of Susquehanna and Columbia universities. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Women of E.L.C.A. and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Third Society of Farm Women and Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 12 noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Sunday at Friedens Lutheran Church with the Rev. James R. Ling, assisted by her nephew, the Rev. Joseph D. Long.
