Born Dec. 5, 1917, in Somerset, son of the late Harry Edmond "Shorty" and Elizabeth Lydia (Brubaker) Long. Also preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca E. "Dolly" Reynolds. Survived by his wife, the former Rosalind Pennell "Posie" Fluck, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Lebo of Somerset. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Somerset. Owned and operated Long's American Service Station of Somerset from 1946 to 1969. Retired inspector for General State Authority of Pennsylvania from 1969 to 1981. A 1935 graduate of Somerset High School. World War II veteran of U.S. Army Air Corps, serving with the 9th Air Force in Europe. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Rev. Robert L. Hoover, Jr. officiating.
