Long, 88, a resident of the Irwin area for 55 years, died July 4, 2005, at his home with family by his side. He was born Feb. 8, 1917. Preceded in death by first wife, Marie Brown Long in 1977; son, Kenneth Long; daughter, Linda Perkins. Survived by second wife, Mary E. Senor Bielick Long; three sons, Harold W. Long and his wife Nancy, Albion, Christopher C. Long and companion Marilyn, Cranberry, John Bielick and companion, Christine, Manchester, N.J.; daughter, Melissa J. Hill and her husband Leslie, Johnstown; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Prior to his retirement in 1978, Mr. Long was employed by Westinghouse Electric as a machinist with 35 years of service (1943 - 1978). He spent summers at the Woodlands Campground in Somerset. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home Inc., Clay Pike, Circleville, N. Huntingdon, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday.
