Long died December 26, at 8:30 p.m. in his home in Glade City, Meyersdale R.D. 2. He was born in Larimer Township, the son of Daniel D. and Catherine (Grine) Long, and was 73 years of age at his death. He was formerly an employee of the Western Maryland Railway but has lived retired since 1933. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie (Whitford) Long, a son, William Long, Akron, O., a daughter, Alva, Mrs. Fred Primrose, Detroit, and by two grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, James and Charles of Meyersdale, and three sisters, Mrs. Annie Stoddard, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Lillian Walker, Warren, O., and Mrs. Sue Dodson, Meyersdale. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and of the Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the family home, Rev. H. K. Hilner officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus. Meyersdale Republican, January 1, 1948
