Long, 48, of Midlothian, Va., formerly of Somerset RD 1, died July 5, 1996, at home. Born Sept. 26, 1947 in Black Township, son of Hazel Cramer Long of Somerset RD 1 and the late J. Alvin Long. Also preceded in death by brother Robert and sister Janet. Survived by his wife of 27 years, the former Dianne Kendall and these children: Travis Wayne and Melissa Kendall Long, both at home. Brother of Mildred Dickey and Kenneth Long, both of Somerset RD 1, and Joyce Paul of Phillips Ranch, Calif. Active in the Baptist Church. U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. Employed as a plant sales manager for 10 years at Inland Container Corp., Richmond, Va. Graduate of Rockwood Area High School and had a associate degree in marketing from the Penn State University. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. Randall W. Bain officiating. Interment, Beachdale Cemetery.
