  LONG
  
    Merle W. Long, 52, Somerset, died Dec. 18, 1989, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born Jan. 4, 1937, in Bullskin Township, son of the late
  Leroy and Helen (Bungard) Long.  Also preceded in death by brother,
  Glen.  Survived by wife, the former Marcella Kosis, and these
  children: Merlene, married to David Monteith, Jerome; Karen, married
  to Martin Walat, Stoystown; Eugene Dell, Virginia, and Jason Del,
  Somerset; grandchildren, Brett and Cody Walat and David and Shannon
  Monteith.  Brother of Gerald, Sharpsville; Mrs. James A. (Ellen Ruth
  "Sis") Roadman, Vanderbilt; Charles, Pennsville, and Zane and Robert,
  both of Connellsville.  Vice president of Somerset Manufacturing
  Company.  Avid sportsman.  Member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club,
  Somerset Mountain Field and Stream, and Somerset American Legion. 
  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  At
  this time, the family would like to thank all their friends for their
  thoughts and prayers.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made
  to the American Heart Association, 224 Broad St., Johnstown, or the
  Southern Alleghenies Lung Association, 634 Main Street, Johnstown.
