  SIMON C. LONG SR.
  
    Simon C. Long Sr., 91, of Garrett RD 1, died Feb. 12 at home.
    He was born Sept. 9, 1884, in Brothersvalley Township, the son of
  the late John and Anna (Hauger) Long and was preceded in death by his
  wife, the former Melinda Brant in 1972, also three brothers and three
  sisters.
    He is survived by these children: Mrs. Annabelle Folk, Grantsville;
  John W., Berlin RD 3; Mrs. Elsie Beachley, Berlin; Simon Long Jr.,
  Garrett RD 1; Mrs. Robert (Helen) Brant, Somerset RD 5; nine
  grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
    He was a brother of Joseph, Mrs. Edith Meyers and Mrs. Homer
  (Virda) Brant, all of Garrett RD 1.
    He was a member of the Beachdale Church of the Brethren and a
  longtime farmer in Brothersvalley Township.
    Services were conducted Feb. 15 in the Beachdale Church of the
  Brethren, the Rev. William N. Hay officiating.  Interment, Beachdale
  Cemetery in charge of Johnson and Son Funeral Home.
