He was a faithful, loyal and efficient employee, and while his health had been somewhat impaired for the last year, his death was a shock to his associates and many friends. Mr. Loose was born January 17, 1878, at Clear Spring, Md., and was educated in the public schools at that point, later attending Wolf's Commercial College at Hagerstown, Md. He first entered B & O service as a clerk at Cherry Run, W.Va., on September 14, 1901, subsequently holding positions of assistant yardmaster, chief clerk to agent, ticket clerk and cashier. On January 23, 1907, he was appointed agent at Meyersdale, Pa, and on August 10, 1911, traveling auditor, which position he held at the time of his death. He resided at Newark, Ohio, for many years prior to 1931, when he was transferred to the Toledo Division, with headquarters at Lima, Ohio, then moving to Dayton, Ohio, in 1933. He was a member of the Meyersdale Lodge No. 55, Free and Accepted Masons of Meyersdale, Pa., and of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks at Lima, Ohio. The funeral services were held at the Morris Sons' Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Dayton. Pallbearers were Traveling Auditors H. J. Coffman, W. C. Creedon, C. S. Everett, E. D. Harshbarger, C. E. Pixley and E. J. Tolliver. Surviving are his wife, Rose G., of Dayton, and brother, Paul G., of Joliet, Ill., to whom sincere sympathy is extended.
