CHARLES F. LOWENSTEIN

  Charles F. Lowenstein, aged 73 years, a brother of Miss Ella Lowenstein, 
passed away Dec. 27, 1944, following a paralytic stroke.  He was born in 
Grantsville.  He was unmarried and was a pattern-maker for the Cambria Steel 
Co., in Johnstown for many years.  He was a member of the Lutheran Church.  
Funeral services for him were held on December 29, with interment in Grandview 
Cemetery.
  The Lowenstein family often recalled their experience of the great Johnstown 
flood on May 31, 1899, shortly after they located in that city.  Miss Lowenstein 
and her brother often visited their Winterberg relatives and several other 
friends who still live in Grantsville, and remember their kind and attractive 
personalities.
