Miss Lowenstein died at her home at Johnstown, Pa., about 5 o'clock Friday afternoon. Although she had been in ill health for two years, her condition had been critical only a few weeks. Born at Grantsville in 1858, she was a daughter of Charles and Rachel Lowenstein, natives of this county, and was the eldest of eight children. For a number of years she had made her home in Johnstown. Surviving are one sister, Miss Ella Lowenstein, a brother, Charles Lowenstein, both of Johnstown. Four cousins reside in Grantsville, Mrs. Nettie Bill, Mrs. John Zehner, Miss Christena Winterberg and William Winterberg. Funeral services were held in Johnstown Monday afternoon. Mrs. Bill, Mrs. Zehner, Miss Winterberg and Mr. Winterberg went to Johnstown Sunday. Meyersdale Republican, August 21, 1941
