Lowery, Sr., 59, of Girard, Ohio, died of a heart ailment, Jan. 14, 1974, in North Side Hospital, following a two year illness. Born Feb. 12, 1914, in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Henry F. and Della A. (Harding) Lowery, and has lived in Girard since 1936. He was a pit foreman in the Brier Hill plant of Youngstown, (Ohio) Sheet and Tube Company, retiring in October 1971. He was a member of the Mahoning Valley Foremen's Association and was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. Besides his wife, the former Jean A. Cook, whom he married in 1939, he is survived by two sons, Harvey Jr., of Struthers, Ohio; and Jerry Lee, of Niles, Ohio; a daughter, Miss Linda Jean, at home; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mark L. Mimna, of Girard. He was a brother of the late Albert (Slim), John and George Lowery, all of Meyersdale. Funeral service was held in Shriver-Allison-Courtley Chapel in Boardman, Ohio.
