LOWERY John Henry Lowery of Meyersdale died early Sunday morning in his room in the Y.M.C.A. building, in Connellsville, where he was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad. His death was due to a heart attack which overtook him while he was preparing to retire. A son of Henry P. and the late Stella Harding Lowery, John H. Lowery was born in Elk Lick Township April 26, 1906. For some time he had been employed as a brakeman by the P.R.R. Besides his father he is survived by his wife, the former Rita Jordan, and three children, Shirley Ann, Mark and Roy, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Gary, Detroit, and Mrs. Mark Mimna, Youngstown, O.; and three brothers, Albert Lowery, Meyersdale; Harvey Lowery in the Navy at San Francisco, and George Lowery, Baltimore. Funeral services were conducted at his home on East Main Street, Friday afternoon, by Rev. John F. Hoenstine, pastor of the Garrett Lutheran Church. Interment was made in the Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus. Meyersdale Republican, August 23, 1945
