"Stormy" 08/25/05 Daily American Kenneth L. "Stormy" Lowery, 87, Meyersdale, died Aug. 23, 2005, at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born Dec. 13, 1917, in Shaw Mines. A son of the late Thomas and Savilla (LaRue) Lowery. Also preceded in death by his wife, Althea D. (Sturtz) Lowery. Survived by his daughter Judy, wife of David Hall, Murrells Inlet, S.C.; three grandchildren: Bernard W. Oravec Jr., Kenny A. Oravec, Kimberly A. Williams, and a great-grandson, Connor Williams. A brother of James Robertson, Meyersdale; and Udell Lindeman, Boynton. "Stormy" was a retired foreman for PennDOT with 20 years of service, and was a coal miner for 26 years. A member of the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, he served two terms as a borough councilman, life member of the Meyersdale Ambulance Association, and a life member of the Maple Leaf Rod and Gun Club. He was inducted into the Somerset County Oldtimers Baseball Association Hall of Fame in October 2003. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home Meyersdale, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Eric Shaulis officiating.
