Lowery, 59, of Berlin RD 1, died Aug. 30, 1979, in Stonycreek Township. He was born June 27, 1920, in Brothersvalley Township, the son of Robert and Hilda (Landis) Lowery. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Elwood; and one sister, Edith. He is survived by his wife, the former Martha Cook; one daughter, Mrs. Darlene Deen; two sons, David and Joel; and one grandson, all at home; his step-mother, Mrs. Emma Lowery of Lancaster; and the following brothers and sisters; Merle and Jerry, Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Edward (Doris) Sivits, of Somerset; Mrs. Frank (Evelyn) Reineer, Mrs. Janet Carl, Mrs. Robert (Irma) Stickles, Richard, Lynn, and Mrs. Thomas (Judy) Sarver, all of Lancaster. He was a farmer and construction worker and an Army veteran of World War II. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Friday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Marlin A. Miller officiating.
