He had been in poor health for some time, but his sudden death was unexpected. Funeral services were conducted at the home of Mrs. Chidester by Rev. Jamison, pastor of the Methodist Church at Confluence. Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen took charge of the last rites at the grave in the Ursina Cemetery. Mr. Lowry was formerly employed as a railway trainman and later was interested in coal mining along Whites Creek. He is survived by one brother, Samuel Lowry, of Coal Run, and several sisters.
