"Pidge" 05/09/05 Daily American David D. "Pidge" Lowry, 84, of 201 Gay St., Salisbury, died May 6, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown. Born Aug. 30, 1920, in Salisbury, the son of the late Herbert and Daisy (Wagner) Lowry. Preceded in death by a sister, Marian Lowry. Surviving are his wife, Alta M. (Miller) Lowry; one daughter, Michelle Wiltrout and husband, Roger W., Salisbury; two sisters, Pauline Finley, Bethel Park, and Doris Deal, Salisbury and two grandsons, Roger Wiltrout Jr. and Jason Wiltrout. Mr. Lowry was a retired carpenter with Carpenter's Union, Local 1024, Cumberland, Md. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a life member of the Salisbury American Legion and V.F.W. Member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Friends were received Sunday and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy, Salisbury, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion and V.F.W.
