"Tucker" Lowry, 80, Friedens RD 2 (Lake Stonycreek), died Nov. 7, 1994, at Somerset Hospital. Born Oct. 2, 1914, in Shanksville, son of William and Winnie (Spangler) Lowry. Preceded in death by parents; brothers: Ray and Roland, and sister, Ethel Reese. Survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Gladys Glessner, and these children: F. Edward, married to the former Angela Faulkner, Beaver Falls; Donna, married to Robert McCoy, Bloomsburg; Peggy Rhodes, Somerset, and Thomas, married to former Jeanne Webreck, Friedens RD 2. Also 9 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Brother of Kathryn Walker, Somerset; Carl, married to former Esther Powell, Dillard, Ga.; Telford, Shanksville; Donald, married to former Lois Darr, Mechanicsburg and Indian Lake, and Kenneth married to former Maryanne Custer, Indian Lake. Retired after 38 years as a Stonycreek Township farmer. Active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville, where he formerly served on Council and as Sunday School superintendent. Former member and past president of Stoystown Lions Club. Former 40-year member and president of Somerset County Agricultural Association. Charter member and past president of Somerset County Holstein Club. Former member and chairman of Somerset County ASCS committee. Also member of many other agricultural organizations. Former Shanksville-Stonycreek School Board member and an avid golfer. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Keaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville, with the Rev. William H. Snyder. Interment, Walker Cemetery, Shanksville.
