Lowry, 65, of Pittsburgh died Oct. 16, 1989, at Aspinwall Hospital. Born Dec. 23, 1923, in Rockwood. Preceded in death by father, Pierce. Survived by mother, Anna F. Lowry; wife, Ruth (Harlon) Lowry; son, Brett, of Boston; daughter, Greer, of Pittsburgh. Graduate of Rockwood Area High School, Class of 1941; also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Employed by Hoskins, Rees and Smith as a recruitment executive. He served in the 101st Airborne during World War II and received a medical discharge. He was a member of the Rockwood Church of the Brethren, and had since been a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Pitt Alumni Orchestra, Shrine Band and a member of other bands and orchestras. Death terminates a marriage union of 23 years. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Southminster Presbyterian Church.
