Lowry, 97, Melrose, died Jan. 9, 2005, at her residence. Born in Shanksville, Mrs. Lowry moved to Melrose 35 years ago from Somerset. She was a homemaker and member of Paran Baptist Church in Grandin. She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Taylor T. Lowry and sons, Taylor T. Lowry Jr., James Lowry and Robert Lowry. Mrs. Lowry is survived by four daughters, Betty Lowry, Huachuca City, Ariz.; Ada Barndt, Somerset; Victoria Clark, Martinsburg, W.Va. and Mary Chambers, Keystone Heights; four sons, John Lowry, Las Vegas; Jack Lowry, Keystone Heights; Charles Lowry and Frank Lowry, both of Melrose; 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Mrs. Lowry were held 11 a.m. Jan. 13 in Paran Baptist Church Cemetery in Grandin with the Rev. Charles Litzell officiating. Burial followed under the care of Moring Funeral Home of Melrose.
