Born Dec. 23, 1922, in Windber, son of the late John and Mary (Astare) Lucas. Also preceded in death by brothers, George and John; and sister, Verna Digon. Survived by wife of 57 years former, Clara Florence Buscaglia, and these children: Clara Marie, wife of Fred Kendig, Winchester, Ken.; Jerry, Colorado Springs; Karen, wife of John White, Davidsville; and Ron Lucus, Irwin; grandchildren Christina Franklin, Brian Kendig, Joseph and Daniel White. Survived by sister, Mary Filia, and nieces and nephews. Retiree of Penn Furniture with 32 years service. Also worked as a coal miner for nine years with Berwind-White Coal Co. Army veteran of World War II. Member of Teamsters Local 110, Windber American Legion, St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Meek Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where panachida will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Church, preceded by brief service at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
