(Pop) 06/24/06 Daily American James T. "Pop," Lucas, 91, Gray, died June 23, 2006, at Patriot Manor, Somerset. Born Oct. 14, 1914, in Shell, W.Va., son of Adam and Elizabeth (Rotruck) Lucas. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 73 years, the former Mabel E. Rotruck, who died May 29, 2006; brothers, Henry, Lee, Major and Charles Lucas; and sisters, Goldie Kitzmiller and May Henry. Survived by son, Atwood "Woody," married to former Helen Deist, Gray; grandchildren, Timothy Lucas, married to former Beverly Schech, Berlin, and J. Scott Lucas, married to former Sharon Quesada, The Plains, Va.; great-grandchildren, Amy and Holly Lucas; special nephew, Allen Lucas, Daphne, Ala.; sister-in-law, Mary Bacorn, Keyser, W.Va.; and brother-in-law, William Agnew, Keyser. Army veteran of World War II. Track fore-man for Western Maryland Railroad, having retired in 1975 after 44 years of service. Member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, Jennerstown. Enjoyed feeding birds and other wildlife and mowing grass. Viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Allegheny Street, Boswell, the Rev. Gary W. Anderson officiating. Interment, Christ Casebeer Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle or Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church.
