Born Nov. 5, 1927, in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Oscar and Elizabeth (Ashcroft) Nore Sr. Preceded in death by infant son, John; two brothers: LeeRoy, and Alvin, and one sister, Elizabeth. Survived by her husband, Ernest G. Ludy Jr. ("J.R."); and these children: Karen, wife of Allen Baker, Mercersburg; Joyce, wife of Dennis Baker, Mechanicsburg; Patricia, wife of Lawrence Smith, Marietta, Ga.; Jay R., married to the former Eileen Hart, New York City, N.Y.; Eric S., married to the former Elizabeth Harmon, Friedens RD 1; also 10 grandchildren. Sister of Althea Swain, Johnstown; Genevieve, wife of John Cavanaugh, and Dorothy, wife of Emery Dula, both of Lake Placid, Fla.; one brother, Oscar J. Nore, Middletown, R.I. Death terminates a marriage union of 48 years. Member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Graduate of Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and Navy cadet class of 1948. Also a member of Pa. Nurses Association, VFW Post 554 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post 181 Ladies Auxiliary, FOE 1801 Ladies Auxiliary. Retired from Somerset State Hospital and Somerset Hospital. Friends will be received in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Pastor James R.
